Data entry, configuring the log using log codes

Discussion on how to configure/use ebase's Log to track whatever kind of information you need to store about your contacts and your interactions with them.

Log Code Data Transfer

Hi,

I am currently renaming existing log codes and adding new ones in ebase version 2.20 and I have a question regarding log entry data transfer.

metadata & metaflags

I've installed 2.20 runtime on Windows. Have experimented with sample logs. Have set up ours - including a "Board with Metaflag" intending to have current (yes) to reflect "current" and (no) to be "former".

Saving constituent list with a name

Actually submitted by management@phoe... on Mon, 2008-01-21 16:32.

I have entered my constituents and deleted all the duplications, however cannot seem to save this new list with an apppropriate name.

Viewing log entries

I've set up my codes and entered in data but the entries aren't showing up on the log in each contact screen. It tells me that there are 4 log entries and the word "log entries" is in blue and underlined (giving the assumption that you can click on that and see history - which I can't) but only one entry appears on the log.

Deleting Codes

Is there a way to delete a large number of mistakenly added codes to a found set? Currently, (when I make this sort of mistake) I have to delete each code from each individual record one at a time. It seems like if there is a way to add a code to a found set, there must also be a way to delete a code from a found set, but I haven't figured it out.

Data Entry so a group is able to be searched for later

I am wondering if there is a way to do data entry for a specific group of donors so I can pull up that exact group later.

Example: I would like to pull up a list of donors that have given to different specific projects but are not members to sent them a mailing. They will be coded under the different projects that they donated to but I was hoping to add a second code or something else to make them more easily searchable.

Log Code worksheet

Here's a worksheet of simple codes anyone can use as a sample of how coding can be done.
